Shameless Plug: “The Warden of Everfeld: Memento”

This is a friendly reminder that I recently wrote and published a fantasy adventure called The Warden of Everfeld: Memento.

This novel is available for purchase on Amazon.com:

  • $4.99 on Kindle
  • $12.99 in paperback
  • I will also be selling paperbacks at Awesome Con in DC, April 26-28, for just $10. So come visit my table! (More details coming)

Here is the full synopsis:

The Second Redskael War left many communities in Everfeld in mourning, and now they have united in mutual protection. Aston dreams of fighting for his home as his father did, but Jaed only wants to find the home she never had.

When a long-buried secret is revealed, Jaed and Aston must flee those who would stamp out any threat to the fledgling Felding Alliance. Now they must each make a choice: run away and condemn the society they were raised in, or fight back to protect those they love.

The Warden of Everfeld: Memento follows their adventure as they struggle to reconcile their pasts and discover the true meanings of identity, honor, loyalty, and love. Their choices will change their lives and Everfeld forever.

Aaaand some additional information for good measure…

Genre: low fantasy, adventure, coming-of-age, new adult

Character Bios:

Happy 2019! I promise to limit my shameless plugs to once per month or less.

How to Find A (New) Cover Designer (because the first one fell through)

Back in December, I wrote about my haphazard process for finding a cover designer for WoEM, and how it ended up working out. Well, the design process did not play out in the way I hoped… Continue reading How to Find A (New) Cover Designer (because the first one fell through)

Exploring Úr’Dan: The Hundred Teeth

I’ve been watching Planet Eath II on BBC America with Present Wife recently, so I’m inspired to delve into my alternate universe a bit more.

On tonight’s episode… Mountains! What life could survive in some of the most rugged and extreme conditions of Úr’Dan?

Okay, I’ll drop the David Attenborough act, tempting though it is. Continue reading Exploring Úr’Dan: The Hundred Teeth

Úr’Dan: Exploring the Alternate Universe

I have talked about my upcoming novel, The Warden of Everfeld: Memento, in mostly vague terms to this point. That is largely by design.

I tend to hold my own dreams and aspirations near and dear to my heart until I feel like I’m ready to express them to people beyond my most inner circle. But, I think it’s time I actually begin sharing some of the world-building I have been doing over the last several years. Continue reading Úr’Dan: Exploring the Alternate Universe

How to Find a Cover Designer

I believe I mentioned in one of my recent Friday Write-Day posts that I had begun the process of finding a cover artist for my novel. I did this not because it was part of my strategic process of preparing for publication — that would have been the smart thing to do. Continue reading How to Find a Cover Designer

Writing Lesson #64: World-Building Offers Many Avenues of Storytelling — Use Them

cs-thought-bubble

NaNo 2016 got off to a less-than-stellar start for me. For a variety of reasons, not the least of which was the shock induced by the presidential election, I was not focused on writing my second novel, The Warden of Everfeld: Legacy. Part of me feels like I’m jumping ahead too much, considering my first significant round of revisions looms for part one, The Warden of EVerfeld: Memento.

I tend to second-guess myself in such ways. The point is, I haven’t advanced WoEL much beyond the 5,000 words I covered over the first eight days or so. Instead of wallowing in my own thought process, I decided to change focus. Continue reading Writing Lesson #64: World-Building Offers Many Avenues of Storytelling — Use Them

Marketing Your Novel: Intro to SEO

marketing-your-novel

Disclosure: I work for a marketing firm. While I have no formal education in marketing or business and would never claim to be an “expert”, working in online marketing for two companies over the last  four years has taught me a lot. This series will explore the marketing strategies I will use to promote my upcoming novel.

While I am not going to be talking exclusively about SEO in this series, SEO happens to be one of the major facets of Content Marketing, a larger theory and set of strategies of online marketing. Thus, at least a basic introduction to SEO is necessary. So… Continue reading Marketing Your Novel: Intro to SEO
