Misplaced Missive #107 – Christmas Wishes

Dear Old Saint Nick,
This year I have one wish,
Written on my Christmas list:
A selfish desire of bliss,
Through ignorance,
Can you grant me this?

Anything before tomorrow,
I don’t want to remember.
Let my 1st day be December,
Twenty sixth; memory is poisonous,
And knowledge is painful,
Give me tabula rasa if you’re able.

Dear Old Saint Nick,
This year I have one wish,
Written on my Christmas list:
A selfish desire of bliss,
Through ignorance,
Can you grant me this?

I don’t need technology,
Or useless objects,
That others expect
To bring happiness and respect,
But freedom from suspecting,
That all there is, is pain.
And suffering. And neglect.
Fueled by anger, haunted by regret.

So Old Saint Nick,
I’ve tried to be good all year:
Taken my hits and hidden my tears,
Stood up to my fears,
And lied to protect lies,
With a smile on my face all the while.
Do I deserve a clean slate yet?

PS: Sorry this isn’t really in the holiday spirit… I’m kind of a Grinch hah terrible I know XD Apologies! And Merry Christmas to all anyway!
