Color Schemes: Less Than Friend

Grey smoke trails spelling out disaster,
We circled around each other ever faster,
Ignoring warnings of whether
Or not, good could
Come of actions so callous.

I don’t know how we fell so far,
But I don’t think we’ll ever rise above it.

Less than friend,
This is a mess again,
Gotta confess,
Now as then –
I am playing pretend:
Falling but calling it flying.

What started five by five,
Crashed to earth with time,
Crossed signals, and misread signs.
We nose dived.

It was wrong. We were wrong. I was wrong.
My hope soared while our integrity plummeted;
Without honor we did not belong,
Never should’ve left the ground.
I never should’ve stuck around,
Crash and burn with casualties uncounted.
We took too many out with us;
A high price to pay for young lust.

Less than friend,
This is a mess again,
Gotta confess,
Now as then –
I am playing pretend:
Falling but calling it flying.
