Chillin’ at the bar and I feel isolated,
Surrounded by eyes who only see the surface.
Diving into my ocean, they’re saturated;
Afraid of the monsters lurking in the abyss.
A trial by fire spitting out small musings;
Tip-toeing the line to find a bridge over it,
Until their eyes roll, dismiss it as intrusive.
Sipping from my glass feeling suddenly sober,
They mistake rage for trivial hostility.
Assuming our debates are all about ego,
Failing to realize the path to serenity
Is rising above our self-centered vertigo.
Only through my dreams can I live out these passions,
And your threads weave the net that I need to catch them.
